当該部門の概要：生体防御医学研究所では、ナノスケールレベルの膨大な分子群の動態を理解し

つつ、細胞・組織・個体レベルで再帰的に理解するデータ駆動型の新たな横断的研究

領域の創出を担う学際生命科学部門を設置しました。医学生物学研究の革新となる本

融合領域研究を切り拓くため、国内外からナノ分子構造生命科学、オミクス、細胞組

織学、大規模データ情報解析（DX）、あるいは新規開発技術の社会実装に取り組む気

鋭の研究者を採用します。今回、本部門に医学・生物学系の教授１名を公募します。

１分野の構成：教授 １名 助教 １名

顕著な業績を上げた場合は、助教の追加配置を行う場合があります。

研究分野：今回は、分子から個体にわたる幅広い医学・生物学の分野において、世界最先端の生

体防御医学領域の研究を推進する意欲のある方を１名募集します。分野（研究室）名

称は新たに決定することが可能です。

応募資格：生命科学の分野で顕著な業績をあげ、研究と教育にすぐれた指導能力を有する者。原

則として博士号取得者とします。大学院教育においては、医学系学府又はシステム生

命科学府のいずれか、もしくは両方を担当していただきます。

日本語能力は応募要件としません。大学院教育は英語又は日本語で担当していただく

ことができます。

支援：

• 赴任時に研究室セットアップの費用を支援します。

• 当研究所は最先端の研究機器を整備しており、研究推進ユニットが各種研究支援を提供し

ます。

任 期：５年

この間の業績に応じて再任の可否を審査いたします（当研究所では任期制を導入してお

り、本職にも適用されます）。

About the Department

The Medical Institute of Bioregulation (MIB) has established the Department of Multidisciplinary Life

Science to create a new, data-driven, cross-disciplinary research area that seeks to understand the

dynamics of vast numbers of molecules at the nanoscale while interpreting them recursively at the

cellular, tissue and organismal levels. To pioneer this integrative field, which promises to transform

research in medicine and biology, the Institute is recruiting outstanding researchers at any career stage,

from Japan and abroad, working in nanoscale molecular and structural life science, omics, cell and tissue

biology, large-scale data analysis and informatics (digital transformation, DX), or the societal

implementation of newly developed technologies. We now invite applications for one Professor position

in medicine or biology in this Department.

Composition of the Laboratory

One Professor and one Assistant Professor.

An additional Assistant Professor position may be allocated in recognition of outstanding achievements.

Research Field

We seek one individual who is motivated to advance world-leading research in the medical bioregulation

field across a broad range of medicine and biology, spanning molecules to whole organisms. The name of

the laboratory (Division) may be newly determined.

Qualifications

Applicants must have an outstanding record of achievement in the life sciences and excellent ability to

lead both research and education. As a rule, a doctoral degree is required. The successful candidate will be

responsible for graduate education in the Graduate School of Medical Sciences and/or the Graduate

School of Systems Life Sciences.

Japanese language proficiency is not a requirement for this position; applications from researchers of all

nationalities are welcome. Graduate teaching may be conducted in English or Japanese.

• Funding for laboratory set-up will be provided upon appointment.

• The Institute is equipped with state-of-the-art research instrumentation, and its Research

Promotion Unit provides a wide range of research support services.

• Support with visa procedures in English is available for appointees from outside Japan.

Term of Appointment

Five (5) years.

Reappointment will be considered on the basis of achievements during this period. The Institute operates

a fixed-term appointment system, which applies to this position.
