さて、本選考委員会は、下記のとおり、システム情報科学研究院 学際情報学特別部門に所

属し、情報系副専攻プログラムおよび大学院生物資源環境科学府および農学部・生物資源環境

特定プロジェクト教員（准教授）・1名

２．所属・専門分野

今回採用する特定プロジェクト教員（准教授）は、システム情報科学研究院 学際情報

学特別部門に所属し、情報系副専攻プログラムおよび大学院生物資源環境科学府および農

学部・生物資源環境学科の教育研究を担当する教員となります。

当該職が担当する情報系副専攻プログラムは「①基幹科目群（基盤）」「②コア科目群

（実践）」「③分野別応用科目群（深化）」「④総合科目群」の4つの段階で構成されま

す。今回、対象分野の拡充により、これまでの5分野（生命、物理、化学、人文、社会情

報学）に加え、新たに5分野（デザイン、法政、コミュニケーション、食科学、産業応用

情報学（仮称））を追加して、「X-informatics」教育を全学へ網羅的に横展開することに

より、各産業分野で求められる情報系人材を迅速に育成することを目的としています。

特に、食科学を含む農学における情報系人材の育成は、農学研究院が中心となり強力に

推進します。このため当該職にあっては、農学に関する専門的な視点から、以下の先端的

な教育研究を担当します。

１）農学における数理・データサイエンス、情報通信技術（ICT）、人工知能（AI）等の

利用に関する教育研究

２）さらに、これらを基盤として農学に関わる諸課題の解決を推進する教育研究

我が国の農業、食品産業等の構造改革が叫ばれる中、当該領域の教育研究に対する社会

からの要請は日々増加していると同時に、アジアをはじめとする国際社会の潮流とも一致

しています。当該職の採用においては、上記１）および２）の教育研究に関する実績を有

し、農業DX（デジタルトランスフォーメーション）さらにはAX（AIトランスフォーメー

ション）に関わる教育研究にも専念していただける強い意志を持った方を求めています。

Recruitment of a Project-Specific Faculty Member (Associate Professor)

Faculty of Information Science and Electrical Engineering, Kyushu University

Outline:

Kyushu University is seeking an experienced individual with expertise in teaching and research for appointment as a fixed-term

special project faculty member (associate professor) in the Department of Interdisciplinary Informatics, Faculty of Information

Science and Electrical Engineering.

The Sub-major Program for Informatics and Digital Technology will be added new target fields (Design, Law and Politics,

Communication, Agri-Food Sciences, and Industrial Applied Information Sciences (tentative name) in addition to the existing five

fields (Life Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, Humanities, and Social Informatics).

In particular, the cultivation of information technology personnel in agriculture will be strongly promoted,

primarily by the Faculty of Agriculture. Therefore, in this position, Candidates are expected to have

responsibility to have expertise in the following scientific fields:

1) Education and research on the use of mathematics, data science, information and communication technology (ICT),

artificial intelligence (AI), etc., in agricultural sciences

2) Education and research that promotes the resolution of various issues related to agricultural sciences based on these

foundations.

The selection committee is also seeking for individuals who can promote education and research related to DX that contributes

to the realization of sustainable agriculture.

The appointee will join the teaching staff of the Program of the School of Agriculture as well as that of the

Graduate School of Bioresource and Bioenvironmental Sciences.

4. Qualifications:

(1) Ph. D. degree.

(2) An outstanding research record in the above-mentioned scientific fields 1) and 2).

(3) Able to work with enthusiasm for student education and research guidance as undergraduate and graduate school

teachers.

5. Educational Duties:

The successful candidate will be expected to teach the following subjects and supervise research activities at both the

undergraduate and graduate levels in Japanese, with some of the teaching and supervision done in English. Some of

the courses are given by multiple professors.
