Research project title: Arabic Language and Literature
Summary: the successful candidate’s research will be expected to focus on the study of the Arabic language and literature, with particular attention to Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) and its dialectal variants in the Middle Eastern area, as well as to contemporary committed poetry. The research activities will be carried out through the analysis of original texts in Modern Standard Arabic and in Middle Eastern dialectal varieties, with a specific focus on oral dialectal poetry from the Middle East. The project is situated within an interdisciplinary framework between linguistic and literary studies and, at the same time, the research will adopt a cultural, historical, philological, and linguistic perspective, maintaining a strong openness to interdisciplinary and comparative approaches;
Call description: the successful candidate will teach courses in Arabic Language and Literature for the Study-Courses L-11 and LM-38 within the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures, as well as for any other programs within the same Department and the University which include courses in the academic discipline STAA-01/L. - Third mission duties: The successful candidate will carry out Third-Mission activities with the aim of promoting and disseminating broader knowledge of the Arabic language and culture, as well as the opportunities that their study offers at all levels.

Titolo del progetto di ricerca: Lingua e Letteratura Araba
Descrizione sintetica: L’impegno scientifico sarà orientato allo studio della lingua e della letteratura araba, con particolare attenzione alla lingua araba standard (MSA) e alle sue varianti dialettali dell’area mediorientale, nonché alla poesia contemporanea “d’impegno”. Le attività di ricerca saranno condotte mediante l’analisi di testi originali in arabo standard e nelle varietà dialettali mediorientali, con un focus specifico sulla poesia orale in dialetto dell’area mediorientale. Il progetto si colloca in un ambito interdisciplinare tra studi linguistici e letterari e, parallelamente, la ricerca adotterà una prospettiva culturale, storica, filologica e linguistica, mantenendo un’apertura al dialogo interdisciplinare e alla comparazione
