From the ad

Department of Molecular Bioscience, Wenner-Grens Institute (MBW)conducts basic experimental research in molecular cell biology, intergrative biology and infection and immune biology. The research environment is characterised by a modern and advanced methodology and has a strong international profile. MBW is one of the major departments within the Faculty of Science at Stockholm University with more than 30 research groups and about 180 employees of which 65 are PhD students. More information about us is available at: Department of Molecular Bioscience, Wenner-Grens institute .

Project description

The employment is available in the laboratory led by Dr. Martin Jastroch. We are looking for a highly motivated researcher with interest in physiology and metabolism. Our lab works with fat cells and animal models to study energy metabolism from the organism to the molecule with a focus on fat tissue and the development of thermogenic ability.

Tasks

The position includes project management, scientific writing and research – including experimental laboratory work – within a highly innovative project that explores thermogenes in fat tissue. Experience with energy metabolism in mice and fatty tissue development is meritorious. Knowledge in cell culture of adipose tissue and experimental work with mice is also beneficial. High motivation and excellent communication and cooperation skills are requirements.

Competence requirements

A researcher is mainly employed for research and must have completed a doctoral degree or have a foreign degree that is considered equivalent to a doctoral degree.

Assessment bases

Particular attention will be paid to scientific skill and experience in working with mitochondria.

About the employment

The employment is full-time and limited to 12 months. Access by agreement.

Projektbeskrivning
