Job description
The Faculty of Health and Food Science at Linnaeus University is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic doctoral student to the Department of Psychology. You will work within the Department of Method and Methaship, together with other members of Evidence in Learning and Didactics (Fire). Fire is a research group that compiles evidence for various teaching methods based on an interdisciplinary perspective that combines psychology, didactics and methanes. The doctoral service is fully funded through an appropriation from the strategic research area Evidence-based teaching in the school: From Evidence to Excellence (EBIS).
The thesis work will be made within the framework of a meta-science research project aimed at developing methods for evidence syntheses of school research. The project is based on evidence syntheses as part of a framework for evidence-based practice. Your task will be to work with methodological issues throughout the process: from the issue to concrete conclusions that can be used by teachers in practice. The focus will primarily be on further developing and applying methods of quality control (eg risk of bias, inspect-SR, queries-edu) and meaningful interpretation of power sizes from evidence syntheses (eg grade).
The project will be carried out in close cooperation with other school researchers in the EBIS. You are expected to be very flexible about what exact topical issues (eg reading learning, cognitive science principles for learning) that the methodological tools are sent for. It is therefore important that you have a broad interest in school research and pedagogical psychology, and that you appreciate the opportunity and challenges interdisciplinary research projects.
The project is ultimately that the Evidence developed will be concrete useful within the framework of evidence-based internships in the school. Professional experience from areas that use evidence-based practice (eg clinical psychology, healthcare, social services, elderly care, LSS) is therefore particularly merit.
In addition to participating actively in the institution's internal seminar activities, you are also expected to participate in the corresponding activities organized by fire, eBis and teacher education.

Arbetsbeskrivning
