Karlstad University is now looking for a doctoral student in Mathematics Didactics to the Graduate School Beppe. The employment will be at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science.

Graduate School of Subject Didactic Models in Primary School Previous Parts (Beppe)

The graduate school Beppe will contribute to a more systematic knowledge of how some scientifically established, but among themselves different, subject-dedicated models work in various subjects and school texts and how they can be integrated into the teacher education and in primary school F- 6. This means that as a doctoral student, you are researching concrete teaching in primary school in previous years, with close connection with teacher education and school practice.

The graduate school is jointly arranged by Karlstad University and the University of Gothenburg, a total of 9 doctoral students.

The graduate school is part of the subject-dedicated research environment at Karlstad University. This consists of Rose (Research On Subject-Specific Education) as well as the three subject-dedicated centers: CSL (Center for Language and Literature Didactics), CSD (Center for Social Sciences Didactics) and SM The subject-managing perspective involves a particular interest in teaching and learning in subjects or subject areas. As a doctoral student in the Didactics of Mathematics, you will be linked to Smeer.

Tasks

As a doctoral student, you devote you mainly for your own postgraduate education. The postgraduate education, which consists of 240 High school credits (HP) at the doctoral degree and 120 HP at the Licentiate degree, is an opportunity for studies with salary in combination with work and chance at first of an academic career. As a doctoral student, you work independently and are prepared to contribute in different ways in the work and development of the subject and the institution. You are given the opportunity, together with others, extend you in your areas of interest. Agreement, after agreement, it may be appropriate to participate in teaching and administration, so-called departmental service. Such work can include the maximum 20% of full working hours. The work as a doctoral student gives you great freedom to plan and put up your work, which includes involvement, drive and the ability to structure the work, to successfully complete a thesis.

In order to contribute to a good working environment and support both the business and your own development as a researcher, you are present and participate actively in the daily work and the community whether you work on site or remotely.

Terms and conditions

After admission to postgraduate education, an employment as a doctoral student will be offered (Higher Education, Cape. 5 § 3). The employment includes four-year full-time studies with research only. If teaching or other departmental service becomes current, the employment is extended with the corresponding time, up to a maximum of five years full time. The employment is time-limited in first one year and can then be extended by a maximum of two years at a time (Higher Education Order Cape. 5 § 7), with access according to agreement.

The salary for the doctoral student system follows local collective agreements with fixed wage steps.
