Job Description

The successful candidate will work with Prof Yu Hao at the Department of Biological Sciences on gene characterization, phenotypic examination, and gene editing of crops and model plants under a project titled “Seed Innovation Hub” awarded by Singapore Food Agency.

The main responsibilities of the position include characterization of genes related to important agronomic traits and performing genetic engineering and gene editing of indoor farming crops.

Qualifications

The candidate should possess (or is going to obtain) a Ph.D degree in plant functional genomics.


Skills:
The candidate should have a proven track record in performing physiological, molecular, genetic, biochemical, and bioimaging experiments in studying plant gene function and stress response. Skills in gene editing and tissue culture are essential to this position.

Experience:

  • Prior experiences in plant molecular biology, plant physiology, genetics, and gene editing are necessary.
  • The proven experience in working on epigenetics and epitranscriptome will be an advantage.
