Position description

Competition for the position of research assistant in the project FNP Team Net FENG MERMAID – Integrated Environmental Forecast Services for Safe Operation in the Baltic Sea Area (Marine and Environmental Research Modeling and Analysis for Intelligent Decisions).

Our Requirements

• Compliance with the requirements of Article 113 of the Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws 2024, item 1571t.j.).
• A PhD degree in mathematics.
• Experience and previous studies in theory and numerical analysis of data assimilation for weather forecast models in the form of partial differential equations.
• Scientific achievements documented by publications in renowned scientific journals.
• International experience, e.g. Participation in international conferences, international cooperation documented by publications.

Scope of responsibilities

• Conducting research on the subject identified by the project manager.
• Implementation of research and implementation tasks related to the Mermaid project commissioned by the project manager.
• Assistance in the organizational activities related to the implementation of the project.
• Participation in promotion activities related to the project.
• Publication of the results of research related to the project.
• Participation in the organisation of conferences/seminars.
• Other tasks identified by the project manager.

We offer

• Full-time employment contract. Conditions of employment in line with the employment rules of the Team Net FENG project financed by the SMF.
• Employment from 2 November 2026. for the period 12 months. In exceptional cases, the possibility of further extension of employment.
