Description of the post
Subject of Thesis
Perception embodied in modular flexible robotics applied to affective and social human-robot interactions
This thesis project aims to create new flexible robotic solutions dedicated to human interaction, with expressive motion capabilities and perception of their own movement during interaction. To this end, we will develop: 1. Sensors directly integrated into the core of modular flexible robot structures, in order to offer increased perception, cooperation and communication with their environment. 2. Human-robot and robot-robot interaction scenarios to test robots and explore new forms of emotional and social interaction as part of collaborative tasks.
Your Working Environment
The WP2 of the PEPR O2R "Incarnate Material, Architecture and Intelligence" (AS1) structural axis is dedicated to deformation in the service of movement and interaction. Its objective is to explore, during and for the time of interaction, a paradigm shift in the generation of movement, the capture of motion by proprioceptive means, as well as the development of an interaction increased by aesthetic dimensions and/or generating emotions. New solutions are sought to move the robot through deformation, the incarnate intelligence guiding the system not only for motion purposes, but also for aesthetic and emotional considerations.
