Description of the post
Subject of Thesis
The Ph.D. will contribute to the PREBACTOR Project (ANR 2026), which aims to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of bacterial predation in Myxococcus xanthus, a key predatory bacterium in the telluric ecosystems. Specifically, he/she will focus on the generation of a network of protein-protein interactions (PPI) between Kil and T3SS* devices using structural prediction models based on deep neuron networks (AlphaFold2/3, Boltz-2, RosettaFold3, etc.).
The objective is to map intra- and inter-complex interactions between the proteins of these two systems, which are essential for contact predation.
Your Working Environment
The doctoral student will be welcomed to the Laboratory of Biology and Modelling of the Cell (LBMC, UMR5239), to the École Normale Supérieure in Lyon, within the DAMM team (Riccardo Pellarin and Juliette Martin). The team specializes in the modelling of macromolecular assemblages and the use of computational methods to study large-scale protein interactions. The LBMC has privileged access to the resources of the Blaise Pascal Centre (CBP) and the Digital Modelling Scientific Pole (PSMN), including computing clusters equipped with high-end GPUs (H200, GH200, A6000, etc.)
