About the position

The college of Volda searches for fellow within the field management.

The fellowship positions at the University College in Volda have research education until a doctorate (PhD) as a goal, and qualifies candidates for research and teaching positions at research institutes, universities and colleges.

A condition for starting in the position is admission in the doctoral program in health and social studies at the college of Volda / University College in Molde. The documentation on admission to the doctoral program must be available within six months after receiving felling position. One will then enter into a final agreement to start in the position. The fellow is employed for a period of three years with reindeer research education. In special cases, four-year fellow period, which includes 25 Percentage career-enhancing work.  Workplace is at the college of Volda. Startup in scholarship position is in 2027. The final time of employment is clarified in the employment process.

Kvalifikasjonar

Applicants must have completed relevant master's degree education. Applicants who have degrees in particular management relevant disciplines will, in otherwise, approximate equal terms will be preferred. This applies to master's degrees within disciplines such as sociology, political science and psychology or closely related disciplines. Other master's education can also be relevant. Applicants who have similar education as a master's degree, or education from abroad must attach approval from NOKUT.

Any scientific qualifications beyond the master's degree will also be emphasized.

Current candidates must have good Norwegian and English skills, both written and oral. The teaching and administration language at the university college is Norwegian.

Interview and reference check will be carried out by relevant candidates to assess personal prerequisites for conducting the research education. Motivation and potential for research within the field are important prerequisites. PhD candidates must have great work capacity and independence, and the opportunity to prioritize the work on the dissertation in the scholarship period.

Prosjektskisse

In connection with the application, a project sketch must be prepared on until 10 pages. The sketch must be written in Norwegian, Swedish, Danish or English.  It shall assume that the work in the scholarship period shall have mouths in an article-based Ph. Depending consisting of three or four scientific articles and an assembly (cloak) that explains the entirety of the dissertation.

When assessing the applicants, considerable emphasis will be placed on the project sketch, both in terms of quality and relevance. The project sketch must indicate a theme and why this theme is relevant to the subject area management. The sketch should explain the research status in the field. It should also explain the theoretical and methodological starting points for the project and which data the applicant aims to use. The sketch should contain descriptions of tentative method and tentative content in each of the three or four articles in the dissertation.

About the department

The fellow will be employed by the department of social sciences and history. The department has teaching responsibility for about 1350 students, divided into three institutes: Department of Planning, Administration and Schoolsetta Social Studies (IPAS), Department of Social Sciences (ISF) and Historical Institute (HI).

About the PhD program in health and social sciences: professional practice; Terms and development

The college of Volda and Molde University College offers jointly doctoral education Health and social sciences: Professional practice - terms and development. The program is cross-professional and interdisciplinary. The education is aimed at all professions in the health and social sector, and includes contributions from several science disciplines. The program has a broad professional community of candidates and supervisors. Autumn 2026 is there 42 candidates in the program. The doctoral projects in the education use both quantitative and qualitative methods and 'mixed methods'.
