Job Description
Thesis subject
Cognitive aspects of linguistic contact in the Language Area of the Balkans
Your work environment
Funded by the French National Agency (ANR), the Mindcontact project aims to explore the cognitive aspects of linguistic change induced by contact in the Balkan Peninsula. Mixing psycholinguistic and linguistic perspectives of contact, this project examines the phenomena of contact in the linguistic space of the Balkans. The Balkans are a grammar crucible, where different morphosyntactic characteristics of different languages mix because of extended linguistic contacts. In this project, we focus on "minority" linguistic varieties, including non-standard minority languages in contact (for example, Romani, Pomak, Judeo-Spanish / Ladino) and regional variants in contact (by A particular concentration of doctoral research would be conducted on the following grammatical phenomena: time / appearance, evidence, indefinite articles, structure of sentences and orders of words in one or two of the minority languages mentioned above spoken in languages Mindcontact explores the cognitive mechanisms of language change by studying interlinguistic structural boot, code switching and cutting. The doctoral student will be charged, under the supervision of the Scientific Director, to build psycholinguistic experiences using behavioral experiences, monitoring of ocular and electrophysiological movements and to conduct these experiments in the context of experimental expeditions on the ground
