Lund University was founded 1666 and ranks recurring as one of the world's leading universities. Here are about 46 000 students and 8 500 employees in Lund, Helsingborg and Malmö. We are united in our quest to understand, explain and improve our world and people's conditions.
Lund University welcomes applicants with different backgrounds and experiences. Gender equality, equal terms and diversity are fundamental principles for all parts of our business.
Description of the workplace
Department of Electrical and Information Technology (EIT) at Lund University, Lund University of Technology (LTH), is one of the major institutions with about 120 employees and conducts research and teaching primarily in electrical engineering and computer technology. We are located at LTH's campus in Northern Lund.
Within the department of electromagnetism and nanoelectronics, we develop and study new generations of electronics based on advanced semiconductor technology. In particular, we develop and characterize new generations of RF electronics based on III-V technology to be used as amplifiers and switches. Part of the research is related to characterization of advanced materials for cryogenic applications.
Special topic description
Ferroelectric materials such as HZO show promising properties at cryogenic temperatures with strong polarization and attractive coupling properties. The interface properties play a crucial role, but the reduced thermal activation enables different optimization criteria. We will introduce new ALD materials and evaluate their use at the ferroelectric interfaces. The research will be carried out in collaboration with researchers in the ACT competence center and within the strategic research areas of advanced materials.
Tasks
The tasks that postdoctoral are primarily included in research. Teaching can also be included in the tasks, but at most one fifth of the working hours. Within the framework of the employment, it is given the opportunity for three weeks of higher education education. The purpose of the employment is to develop its independence as a researcher and create the conditions for further merit.
You will be responsible for investigating new interface structures for cryogen ferroelectric operation. The studies will also include structural characterization in the synchrotronic jet lines.
Part of the work may be carried out at well-grounds near the major international and national infrastructures Max IV and ESS.
The tasks include:
- Experiment design and sample preparation.
- ALD deposition of ferroelectric films.
- Measurements, data analysis and interpretation.
- Characterization of structural interfaces.
- Research in the field of subject.
- Teaching at the basic level, advanced level and doctoral level.
- Tutorials of degree workers and doctoral students.
- Work to seek external research funding.
- Collaboration with business and society.
- Administration linked to the tasks above.
Permissions
Competent to be employed as postdoctoral is the person who has completed a doctoral degree, or a foreign degree that is deemed to correspond to a doctoral degree, in the field of employment. Evidence that the eligibility requirement is met must have received no later than the time when employment decisions are made. Mainly, the applicant in question that has graduated a maximum of three years before the last application date. If there are special reasons, the doctoral degree may have been completed before.
