Summary: Within the ERC StG project NANOWHYR (grant number: 101042349), we will investigate and tune the optical and electronic properties of III-V nanowires integrated with Silicon. We will exploit the main advantages of nanowires, such as their capability to be monolithically grown on Si with high quality or to be transferred to it post-growth, via micromanipulation, and we will combine them with the tunability of optical properties enabled by hydrogen in N-based semiconductors. We will use micro-photoluminescence, also time-resolved, Raman, (also in near-field regime), and auto-correlation measurements to probe quantum dot-like states.

Descrizione sintetica: Nell’ambito del progetto ERC StG NANOWHYR (grant number: 101042349), studieremo e controlleremo le proprietà ottiche ed elettroniche di nanofili III-V integrati con il Silicio. Sfrutteremo i principali vantaggi offerti dai nanofili, come la loro capacità di essere cresciuti monoliticamente su Si con alta qualità o di essere trasferiti su di esso dopo la crescita (tramite micromanipolazione), e li combineremo con la possibilità di modulare le proprietà ottiche abilitata dall’idrogeno nei semiconduttori a base di azoto.
