Doctoral Research Fellow position at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology

About the position

We have a vacancy as clinical fellow shoes 1378 at the women's clinic, the Department of Clinical Medicine, University of Oslo. The position is free from 01.02.2027.

The employment as a clinical fellow applies for a period of four years. The position includes research education equivalent to three years (75 % of the position) in parallel with teaching work accordingly one year (25 %). The duty work consists of teaching work (see below). Workplace for teaching is currently Ullevål and Rikshospitalet.

The teaching tasks of the clinical fellowship will mainly consist of small group teaching of medical students in obstetric support and women's diseases, as well as propeding store. The clinical fellowships keep both introductory courses and summary courses for the students. The clinical fellow will also be able to get tasks in connection with planning and liquidation of the exam. Note that the teaching tasks will be subject to change in accordance with the current need at all times.

Character requirements for admission on the PhD program will not apply applicants with Norwegian medical education. Applicants with education from abroad, as a general rule must satisfy character requirements for admission to be granted.

More about the position

Draft research project can be enclosed with an application, or presented after employment. The research project must describe the theme, issues, the choice of theory and method, as well as the schedule of the research project.

The applicant can link to a research project at the department, or present their own program. Alternatively, the women's clinic can help with projects and find suitable supervisor. The research work must be anchored by the women's clinic, but can often happen in collaboration with other institutions or departments. Applicant must, in collaboration with its supervisor, within three months of starting in the position, have prepared a complete project description to be attached to an application for admission to the PhD program at the Faculty of Medicine.

Qualifications

We are interested in qualified and motivated applicants, offering competence development in a stimulating academic environment. The women's clinic has increasing activity and several ongoing projects with the need for good PhD candidates.

The position requires medical official exam and Norwegian authorization.

To be employed as a fellow, admission is required in the PhD program, or that there is a binding agreement on admission. It should normally be applied for admission to the PhD program within 3 months after the start of the research project that will lead to the PhD degree.

The teaching language in small groups in the module is usually English, and sometimes Norwegian, and it is therefore assumed that you can teach in English and in Norwegian or other Scandinavian language.

Good knowledge of Norwegian health care service.

Salary in position as a fellow, job code 1378 in payroll kr from 615 000 - 670 000, depending on expertise and experience. From the salary, 2 percentage is deducted in statutory deposits to the Government Pension Fund.
