As a teaching team we are responsible for the full care of our courses: preparing, giving and testing of existing education, as well as renewal and development. Our education is often a mix of lectures, knowledge clips, seminars and computer practices. The courses are offered face-to-face or entirely online. In all our education, we attach to the current educational ideas about academic biostatistics education as much as possible.
To keep our knowledge up to date and feed our education with examples from practice, we work as a biostatistic to research projects. These may be projects that are performed within UMCU, as well as projects of external clients. Our contribution is very diverse, such as a single advice, a full analysis of the data or the attributes to a research protocol or scientific article.
You go to a teacher attended our team. You are deployed with existing courses and in the development of new material. What responsibilities you get depends on your knowledge, experience and interests. The work is diverse: from the (by) developing course material to giving a lecture or the test questions. In addition, you work with projects in which you enable your statistical expertise and expand. Your work are for 90% related to education and for 10% related to projects.

Function requirements

You are a teacher (BIO) statistics and / or data science and have a minimum of three years of education experience.
You have a big heart for education and likes to strengthen our team.
You are interested in medical research and want to contribute to your expertise here.
You are (bio) statistical or mathematical with a solid knowledge of statistics and / or data science, or have a similar profile.
You are able to make abstract statistical concepts insightful for students and researchers from our faculties.
You have experience with R.
You have a learning and self-reflective attitude and contributes to the continuing improvement of our work.
You are flexible and can work both independently and in teamwork.
You are going to both Dutch and English well, both oral and in writing.
Do not you speak English yet? Then, at least, we expect to make the willingness to learn Dutch.

Functieomschrijving

Als onderwijsteam zijn wij verantwoordelijk voor de volledige verzorging van onze cursussen: voorbereiden, geven en toetsen van bestaand onderwijs, alsook vernieuwing en ontwikkeling. Om onze kennis up-to-date te houden en ons onderwijs te voeden met voorbeelden uit de praktijk, werken wij als biostatisticus mee aan onderzoeksprojecten. Dit kunnen projecten zijn die worden uitgevoerd binnen het UMCU, alsmede projecten van externe opdrachtgevers. Onze bijdrage is erg divers, zoals een eenmalig advies, een volledige analyse van de data of het meeschrijven aan een onderzoeksprotocol of wetenschappelijk artikel.
Je gaat als docent aan de slag in ons team. Je wordt ingezet bij bestaande cursussen en bij de ontwikkeling van nieuw materiaal. Welke verantwoordelijkheden je krijgt, hangt mede af van je kennis, ervaring en interesses. De werkzaamheden zijn divers: van het (door)ontwikkelen van cursusmateriaal tot het geven van een hoorcollege of het maken van toetsvragen. Daarnaast werk je mee aan projecten waarbij je jouw statistische expertise inzet en verder uitbreidt. Je werkzaamheden zijn voor 90% gerelateerd aan onderwijs en voor 10% gerelateerd aan projecten.

Functie-eisen

Je bent docent (bio)statistiek en/of data science en hebt minimaal drie jaar onderwijservaring.
Je hebt een groot hart voor het onderwijs en vindt het leuk om ons team te versterken.
Je bent geïnteresseerd in medisch onderzoek en wilt vanuit jouw expertise hier graag een bijdrage aan leveren.
Je bent (bio)statisticus of wiskundige met een gedegen kennis van statistiek en/of data science, of hebt een vergelijkbaar profiel.
Je bent in staat om abstracte statistische begrippen inzichtelijk te maken voor studenten en onderzoekers uit onze faculteiten.
Je hebt ervaring met R.
Je hebt een lerende en zelfreflecterende houding en draagt graag bij aan de voortdurende verbetering van onze werkzaamheden.
Je bent flexibel en kunt zowel zelfstandig als in teamverband werken.
Je beheerst zowel het Nederlands als het Engels goed, zowel mondeling als schriftelijk.
Spreek je nog geen Nederlands? Dan verwachten we in ieder geval de bereidheid om Nederlands te leren.
